Overwhelming support

Daily Kos ! President Obama addresses the nation
As we (eagerly!) await President Obama's first address to the nation, take a look at how the clown pundits (mostly conservatives, but even a few from the MSM) tried to spin the speech. Fortunately, nobody seems to agree with them -- the American public overwhelmingly supports the Obama Administration's economic recovery efforts.
Dear Daily Kos:

52 to 48 is not "overwhelming support". It is a majority barely larger than the margin of error. Please try to keep that in mind. God knows you didn't have any trouble remembering it in 2000 and 2004.

Hugs and kisses,
Folks who can still add

I'm going to guess that "overwhelmingly supports" refers to one or more public opinion polls, not to the presidential election percentages. As for the relationship (if any) between poll results and "public opinion" (an epistemologically iffy concept to begin with), or the question of whether anyone (including the president) knows enough about the specifics of "the Obama Administration's economic recovery efforts" to have an opinion worth listening to -- Damn! Lost my mental place...

Valid point. On the other hand, I'm not seeing any indication that the people who didn't vote for The One feel any better about him now.

I guess I'm making the not-very-original point that each party, when it comes into power, does the same things it complains about when the other party is in power. It's worth remembering that there are only two places where the Obama Administration really has an "overwhelming" approval rating: Congress and MSNBC.
